Are you anxious about visiting the dentist? Or looking for a way to have your dental work done without multiple trips to the dentist?
Sedation dentistry may be just what you are looking for!
Through conscious sedation, you can have years of dental work completed in as little as one visit. Hours will seem like minutes as you sleep through your dental visit. This is wonderful for patients with busy schedules who cannot take time to visit the dentist multiple times in order to complete their dental care. Nervous patients can now have the treatment they have been putting off without fear and anxiety.
How sedation dentistry works
Step 1 – Scheduling your first appointment
Sometimes this is the hardest part. Our friendly staff will work hard to make this easy for you. We will do all we can to accommodate your busy schedule and find the time that is best for you.
Step 2 – Welcome visit
During this visit, we will gather necessary information about your health and dental wellness. We will strive to learn your concerns and desires for your dental needs. You will never be judged or embarrassed.
Step 3 – Your sedation preparation visit
In preparation for your upcoming sedation visit, you will have a brief meeting with Dr. Gurley and his team to answer any questions you may have about your sedation visit. We will go over everything in detail to prepare you for visit. You will be given your prescription to be taken prior to your sedation visit.
Step 4 – Arriving for treatment
A friend or family member will bring you to the office. Additional medications may be provided to ensure you are as relaxed as possible. Our experienced team will monitor you throughout your entire visit.
Step 5 – Going home
A friend or family member will take you home and stay with you for the remainder of the day. You will likely be groggy for the rest of the day, but will awake the following morning with little to no discomfort or recollection of your visit.
Step 6 — Follow up visit
Dr Gurley likes to have a brief follow up visit with patients that have been sedated just to check in about a week after sedating.
